Simulation of space-charge effects using a quantum Schrödinger approach

Space-charge effects play an important role in high intensity and brightness particle accelerators. These were generally studied self-consistently by solving the Vlasov-Poisson equations using a particle-in-cell method accelerator community. In this paper, we propose alternative to simulate space-charge accelerator. Instead of equations, proposed approach solves Schr\"odinger-Poisson study Using quantum Schr\"odinger reduces original problem from six- or four-dimensional phase space down three two spatial dimensions. It also provides possibility beam physics on computers evolving wave function through gates. Benchmarks coasting proton focusing drift defocusing lattice show excellent agreement between method.
